Mark Devereux Projects are developing a new curatorial and artist development project supporting and working with artists & creative practitioners who experience Chronic Fatigue*. We are in discussions with cultural partners across the UK to produce a significant programme of exhibitions, commissions, residencies and more.
In order to support this first phase of our planning, we are undertaking important research to gain a further insight into the number of creative practitioners in the UK who experience Chronic Fatigue. If this applies to you or anyone you know, we would love to hear from you – simply complete the following short form to help with our research. Thank you!
Further information
Chronic Fatigue is a debilitating, often long-term and hidden disability. At least 404,000 people in the UK live with CFS / ME and around 950,000 with Long Covid. These are life-changing and indiscriminate medical conditions that affect both adults and children regardless of socio-economic or ethnic background. This project will be a multi-layered approach to breaking down the stigma and detrimental impacts the symptoms can have upon an artist’s practice and career development.
“I have experienced first-hand the devastating impacts this disability can have upon members of my family and on myself when I had Long-Covid for over 18-months. During my career to date, I have met and worked with a large number of artists who have this often unrecognised and unseen disability.” [Mark Devereux, Director Mark Devereux Projects]
